ABOUT KAREN CHOVAN

Over the past 20 years, I have helped mining operations avoid spending in the millions of dollars, while reducing risks to the environment, and increasing regulatory and community trust in these organizations. My aim is to help identify and solve critical mining waste risk challenges, improving engagement and collaboration within teams to do so. By engaging and uniting diverse minds, I have led teams to work collaboratively to find solutions for several unique environmental and regulatory challenges. I am a strategic forward thinker with strength in bringing together data, information and people, to identify project risks and opportunities to solve complex challenges, and in leading teams through transformational change. I\'d like to see all sustainability-related risks and improvement opportunities sought out, addressed, and integrated into decision making and planning, to meet all stakeholder objectives.
