ABOUT ADAM ENTWISTLE

Hello and thank you for stopping by my profile.I am a fixed share equity partner and Director of Risk and Compliance at JMW, a full-service law firm headquartered in Spinningfields, Manchester. The founding member of the risk and compliance team at a growing and entrepreneurial firm, I established a compliance plan and risk management framework, guiding the firm through challenges such as new offices, team hires, hard insurance cycles, cyber threats and regulatory supervision.My primary role is to advise the COLP, COFA and wider board on the management of risk and compliance, plus I hold the authorised MLCO and MLRO roles. My consultancy background also enables me to provide advice and support to members of JMW\'s referral network, Lawshare.My extensive experience has developed through handling all aspects of risk and compliance, including professional indemnity insurance renewal and claims handling; SRA matters; anti-money laundering; data protection and the design of client inception procedures. In 2018, I became the firm\'s youngest ever non-solicitor partner and have since progressed to director level, overseeing a team of 12 people. Mentoring and encouraging others in the team has been rewarding and I have assisted team members with progression, including promotion to partnership.When time permits, I also enjoy writing about the regulation of legal services and links to my published articles, as well as the book I co-authored, are below. For those in the Manchester area, I sit on the Manchester Law Society Messenger editorial committee and have contributed numerous articles to the magazine. As an aspiring thought leader in my discipline, I have also delivered presentations and training seminars. It has also been a privilege to feature on panels along with experts in the field and stakeholders such as regulators and indemnity insurers.Outside work I enjoy cycling, coffee, music, visiting new countries (but always coming home to Yorkshire), long dog walks and coffee.
