ABOUT BILL BARBER
As an entrepreneur, executive-advisor, innovation ecosystems architect and technology developer, I have designed and deployed tools that take tech projects through their entire lifecycles. From concept to ROI. That includes the linked subsystems that support the needs of all stakeholders: Entrepreneurs, private capital, institutional capital, Innovation service providers, and technology customers. I have personally advised over 3500 companies. Following ten years on the early scientific staff of AMGEN, I spent more than 20 years developing, founding, and funding new technology and investment organizations as an investor, CEO, Board Member, and advisor to entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs, executives, universities, and investors. Recently, this has included moving my family to Europe and re-defining what it means to invest in high-tech projects in emerging conservative-investment cultures. In this role I have been heavily involved as an educator, advisor, and consultant to international startups and turn-arounds at the request of corporate executives, banks, and private funding sources. Conservative investment cultures have a challenge. To reduce risk and improve outcomes, all the different capital sources need integrated tools that rapidly share and evaluate Status and Risk across the project lifecycle, driving faster investment decisions. It is an interesting time in Europe and particularly in Italy. Scientific invention here is some of the very best in the world but, in too many cases, technology opportunities are trapped in an innovation ecosystem that acts too small for global deployment capital, and far too slow for the technology adoption rates of global innovation markets. I am dedicated to changing this.
