Dept. Transitional Assistance: Review SNAP cases pending for appeal in local office. Update cases to correct information before appeal. Prepare strategy for appeal showing that the correct actions were taken by the First Available Worker (FAW). Appear in front of the appeal referee and the client and/or advocate. Make presentation as what the Department has done and why this is the correct information. Implement the Appeal Decision. Helped design survey instrument and create a roll-out strategy for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) on access and use of Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) cards at Massachusetts Farmers Markets in July 2013. Presented a proposal at the FARM BILL NUTRITION FORUM 10-28-05 to remove asset limits of elderly households. Subsequently, in October 2008, the Department got a waiver from USDA to remove the asset limits for most SNAP households. Have been the shop steward for my office since 1992. Was co-chair of the Chapter Food Stamp Committee. Have been reviewing the online policy of BEACON 3.0 (on-going.) Trained on policy of all three programs: SNAP, TAFDC/TANF and EAEDC. Enrolled Agent: Passed the exam to be an Enrolled Agent in my first attempt. Specialties: Shop steward, Chapter board member at the Dept of Transitional Assistance. Enrolled to practice in front of the Internal Revenue Service.
