ABOUT ENRICO SCALAS

After studying applied statistical physics, I have been working at large experimental facilities (DESY, Hamburg; LURE, Orsay and CERN, Switzerland). My current research interests include such diverse fields as quantitative finance and the foundations of statistical physics. I strongly believe in the quantitative effectiveness of probabilistic and statistical methods applied to exciting research fields which have often been the realm of qualitative, even if sophisticated, analyses and researches, including biology, economics, and history. I have established an interdisciplinary research group working both empirically and theoretically on the full spectrum of complex systems. As it is relevant here, my Erdös number is 3 and my Einstein number is 5. To know more about these numbers see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erd%C5%91s_number Specialties:* Anomalous diffusion and its applications to complex systems.* Foundations of Statistical Mechanics.* Agent-based simulations in Physics, Finance and Economics.* Biostatistics.
