ABOUT ENRICO N. DE TONI

Dr. De Toni is a medical oncologist, gastroenterologist and a Professor of Medicine at the University of Munich. Formerly head of the GI-oncology unit at the Med2 and Vice Director of both the Colon and Liver cancer centers at the University of Munich, he pioneered some of the most innovative ongoing initiatives in the treatment of liver cancer. He served as a member of the national liver cancer treatment guidelines, of the steering committee for hepatobiliary tumors in the German Society of Clinical Oncology, as a reviewer for international journals and institutions, including the German and the Dutch research fundation, the New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet, Lancet Oncology, the British Medical Journal, and Gut, where he is a member of the editorial board. Before his current employment with Natera, Dr. De Toni worked at Boehringer Ingelheim as Global Clinical Program Lead for first-in-human Phase 1 trials of T-cell engagers across multiple oncological indications.DEMAND Trial (20••••••••36): pioneering study is the first trial to combine Atezolizumab/Bevacizumab with TACE for intermediate stage hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and to explore the specific effect of synchronous TACE and immunotherapy (TACE and Atezo/Bev, or Atezo/Bev followed by on-demand TACE or locoregional treatment)MONTBLANC Trial (20••••••••48)A first-of-its-kind study investigating a triple immunotherapy regimen (durvalumab, tremelimumab, and bevacizumab) for HCC.
