ABOUT ENRICO LOVERA

I am an experienced and flexible engineer, specialised in mining and raw materials management for construction industry. After graduation in Engineering for Land and Environment at Turin Polytechnic (Italy), I worked as fellow researcher in the same University, where I got a PhD in Geo-Engineering with a dissertation on quarry management and optimisation.Ten years ago I decided to challenge myself in a different context. I selected Italcementi Group, a multinational Company and one of the world leading players in construction materials (17,500 employees, 42 cement plants, 60 Mt cement capacity, 4.3 M€ turnover in 2015), which was offering an attractive and highly qualified international experience. I have been working in Egypt, USA, India, Thailand and Europe, producing studies and plans for reserves optimisation and providing technical assistance to quarry operations.My work has been always acknowledged for the excellence and timeliness of results, which allowed the Management to define profitable raw material strategies and to take actions to secure the medium-long term availability of reserves. Thanks to my competence and reliability, I have been often involved in highly sensitive and strategic projects, and after the takeover of HeidelbergCement I have been offered to join the Global HeidelbergCement Technology Center (HTC) based in Leimen. Since March 2025 I am Head of Geology, Reserves and Mine Planning for global Competent Center Aggregates / Cement of Heidelberg Materials.
