As a Hospital Volunteer in the Medical-Surgical department, I support nursing staff and enhance patient care through nonclinical assistance. I regularly round on inpatients to provide comfort, respond to call bells, and help ensure patient needs are communicated promptly to the care team. I also assist with restocking medical supplies, maintaining unit organization, and supporting daily workflow to improve efficiency on the unit. Through consistent patient interaction, I develop strong communication skills while helping create a positive and supportive hospital environment.

ABOUT ENIOLA OSINOWO
From a young age, my Nigerian parents instilled in me the values of hard work, excellence, and service, shaped by their immigration journey to the United States as healthcare professionals. Their example inspired my drive to pursue a career in medicine. Through AP biology and chemistry in high school and now as a Chemistry major and Biology minor at Howard University, I have developed a deep appreciation for the complexities of the human body and the chemical principles that govern it. This passion led me to the Howard University BS/MD accelerated dual-degree program, which has been integral to my academic and professional growth. I am currently conducting research on the use of Laponite for targeted cancer drug delivery, further strengthening my interest in biochemical research. Shadowing physicians in various specialties (geriatrics and ENT) has shown me the value of patient care). I aspire to earn my medical degree at the Howard University College of Medicine and pursue a career in surgery and cardiology.
