ABOUT ENIOLA AKINOSO
Attorney. Presently exploring my interests in Canadian Corporate law, Banking & Finance, Commercial Real Estate and Litigation at Dentons Canada LLP. I transitioned from a 3-year legal practice in Nigeria, where I worked at Nigeria\'s leading law firm and at a multinational tax consulting firm with presence in over 150 countries. During this period, I advised clients on issues spanning commercial dispute resolution and arbitration, tax planning and corporate restructuring, aviation and receivership management, corporate commercial matters and regulatory compliance processes. I also actively engaged in litigation at the Tax Appeal Tribunal, Federal High Court, multiple State High Courts and the Court of Appeal. I graduated with Distinction from my LL.M at the University of Ottawa, where my research interests spanned technology and law, cannabis legalization, human rights (disability studies) and intellectual property. I am devoted to creative thinking and writing. I initiated TaxVille to bridge a tax knowledge gap among young professionals by delivering tax-focused content in a simple and entertaining manner. I led a team of tax enthusiasts to steadily contribute to the Nigerian tax space through TaxVille. Having greatly benefitted from those who went before me, I dedicate my spare time to assist Internationally Trained Lawyers (ITLs) seeking qualification to practice law in Canada. I tutor on Canadian Professional Responsibility for those writing the NCAs through the Foreign Trained Lawyers in Canada community. I also serve on the Professional Advancement teams of the Black Female Lawyers Network and the ITL Network. Both platforms empower and support the advancement of black and foreign trained lawyers in Canada. I find joy in dancing, sprinting, driving and listening to TED Talks.
