Design Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems for Substations at BC Hydro- Provide design, development, and testing of equipment used in Transmission & Distribution substations and Generating stations, including Remote Control Equipment, metering, local display, communication equipment, low voltage DC circuits, LAN & WAN- Participate in project planning meetings with project managers, other designers, and field managers- Obtain information from other Protection and Control (P&C), and Telecom designers- Mentor and supervise new team members - Provide markups to a drafter and check back on the drafter’s work- Integrated testing of new SCADA and P&C equipment in the BC hydro system- Provide field support to the Communication Protection & Control (CPC) crew for commissioning the SCADA design- Prepare Summary of Requirements (SOR), Project Test Summary (PTS), RTU point assignments & Configurations, and drawings- Bench testing RTU configurations & Pre-commission them with BC Hydro Control Centre- Review drawings for External Service Provider (ESP)- Precure SCADA equipment from vendors - Interacting with panel builders for SCADA Panels and performing Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)- Site visits for field Checks, SCADA system troubleshoots, and Communication Protection & Control (CPC) technologist field support.
