Dr. Lin Gong brings a wealth of expertise derived from years of academic research in power systems and a substantial professional background in the power and energy industry. Presently, he serves as an Assistant Professor within the ECE department at Prairie View A&M University. Before that, he served as an Assistant Professor within the ECE & CS department at Jackson State University for over three years.Dr. Gong attained his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Mississippi State University (Starkville, U.S.), where he continued as a Postdoctoral Associate until the close of 2020. His academic journey also includes securing M.S. and B.S. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology (Chicago, U.S.) in 2015 and Wuhan University (Wuhan, China) in 2005, respectively.In the realm of industry, Dr. Gong held pivotal roles as an Electrical Engineer in power and energy industry consulting companies from 2006 to 2013. Notably, he has earned senior membership status within the and maintains membership in esteemed organizations such as the IET and CIGRE.Dr. Gong\'s research portfolio spans a diverse array of topics, primarily bridging power and energy systems engineering, parallel and distributed optimization, High-Performance Computing, and the application of artificial intelligence and robotics. His contributions extend to the exploration of multi-energy systems, renewable energy, and energy system sustainability and resilience enhancement.With an impressive seven-year tenure in consulting companies specializing in the power and energy industry, Dr. Gong has been responsible for the design and engineering of power and energy-related projects, including coal/gas-fired power plants, power substations, and renewable energy systems.
