ABOUT ENGIN HUSSEIN

My current contract ends 31 August. In this role I run a team of 18 engineers who cover BAU and project tasks, including mobile device management, Intune configuration, Absolute management, build configuration and other tasks. We support administration offices, community sites, clinics, wards and operating theatres on a 24/7 basis, though we are remote where possible. I am the escalation point and technical adviser for the Trust’s Service Desk team, and other areas. I manage relationships with external parties. I am also responsible for managing the testing and approval of new and existing devices, procurement, configuration and installation of new hardware. During my contract I have materially improved the working environment for my team, selected, interviewed and appointed both internal and external candidates for team vacancies, doubling the team in size, ensured that my team have seen personal and technical development, put in place a career path for staff from 1st line to 2nd line, for some a move from 2nd line to the Network Team, Cyber Security or Systems Team. For the Trust, I have increased the quality of work by 1st and 2nd line teams, improving the “First Time Fix” rate for 1st line and improving their motivation by giving them a progression path. Additionally, I have standardised hardware, ensuring we can quickly and efficiently fix or replace hardware in all locations, ensured that the hardware list is maintained to offer best value for the Trust, standardised software, and built relationships with all levels to ensure that IT as a whole is meeting (and hopefully exceeding) expectations. I report to senior managers and directors on team performance. I have long experience of IT management in the private and public sector and in various different roles. I have managed teams from 2 people to 20 people. That breadth of experience means that I have something to offer any employer and would relish the opportunity to discuss how I might contribute to any organisation.
