I lead the Portfolio Reporting and Controls function within Strategic Infrastructure, overseeing the performance management and governance of £30 billion + of major transmission projects critical to the UK’s net-zero and grid-modernisation goals.Since onboarding, I’ve been responsible for delivering and embedding the Strategic Infrastructure Management System (SIMS) — a single, digitised framework integrating all project-control disciplines, lifecycle processes, assurance, and regulatory requirements.Key achievements and responsibilities: • Sponsor and technical lead for the end-to-end digitisation of PMO and project-controls architecture, mapping and standardising key processes across cost, schedule, risk, change, and assurance. • Rolled out standardised ways of working across all 17 major projects, enabling consistent delivery governance and improved reporting maturity. • Led the maturity-enablement programme, embedding controls and PMO standards into every project and aligning teams with regulatory and governance frameworks. • Oversaw the design of the interactive SIMS portal, integrating AI-based assistants, automated workflows, and real-time reporting through Power BI dashboards. • Delivered measurable improvement in data quality, decision-making speed, and control compliance — independently validated through external critical reviews and a formal P3M3 maturity assessment. • Supported National Grid’s shortlisting for a major industry award recognising transformation excellence and professional maturity. • Currently working to extend SIMS principles and tools across other business units to unify PMO and assurance practices group-wide.
