ABOUT EMMIE SPRING-MANEK

I joined Simmons & Simmons in London in 2011 after starting my career as a lawyer in the North East of England in 2007. I ventured down South for a new challenge and despite initially thinking it would be a short move, I got very happily “stuck” in London. I am a transactional banking lawyer and I love doing deals. I’m principally a corporate lending lawyer with significant experience in the retail sector and I enjoy leveraged and acquisition finance deals. I enjoy working as part of a team, working with juniors and helping them develop in their own careers both technically and in terms of business development. I’m interested in sustainable finance and I’m excited to see how this area of law develops and how we, as lawyers, can hopefully make a real difference. In 2022, I took a step to redefine my role and help develop the banking practice at Simmons. I pride myself on the service we provide to our amazing clients and I wanted to do something where I could develop our business further, spending more time with our clients and gaining a deeper understanding of their business and their requirements whilst at the same time working on a select number of deals at any one time. I now have the pleasure of doing the deals I enjoy and adopting a more strategic role working with clients on finding new solutions to their problems, looking at ways to deliver service differently, and provide training on new and hot topics internally and externally. Outside of work, I am a busy mum to two delightful young boys who keep me on my toes. Family time is where I am at my happiest. We spend weekends as a family adventuring round museums, forests, beaches and on bike rides and spending as much time outside as we can. I like to keep myself busy and I love being creative, so when I get chance to, you’ll catch me painting, drawing, cooking and dancing. I try to bring an element of creativity into whatever I do, and bring colour to my life and those around me.
