Assessed talent and team skills, analyzed equipment downtimes and processes, exited 2 Plant Managers, promoted replacement, hired 2 Maintenance Managers and Quality Operations Director. Facilitated intense coaching to plant management teams to develop leadership, strengthen accountability and problem-solving skills. Revitalized plant production by 27% in 11 months. Challenged to decrease spiralling machine downtime, assessed maintenance needs, retrofit options and new equipment requirements. Engaged OEM to provide recommendations and training, prepared business cases for a 4-year investment for new production lines and one retrofit, backed by a preventative maintenance program and lean manufacturing concept implementation to boost machine performance. Tackled a labour shortage, lack of engagement and accountability with intimidation and inequity compensation, employee frustration and high attrition. Evaluated each plants operations and processes to understand challenges, investigated serious allegations against a Plant Manager with support from external firm. Devised and executed fundamental changes touching all facets of manufacturing operations supported by new compensation structure and talent recognition, cultural change based on respect and fairness and new orientation training. Employed agency to elevate social media presence, rehired previously employed staff. Gained staff buy-in to implement 24/7 operations in Montreal plant, optimized talent attraction and skills development leading to close to zero turnover. Confronted escalating and intolerable quality and long lead time customer complaints, helping sales team convince customers to shift to more efficient technology. Implemented a quality culture with each team member accountable to deliver quality products supported by realigned processes to timely address low quality.
