Monitoring & DetectionContinuously monitor network traffic, servers, applications, and security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls).Identify suspicious activities, anomalies, or policy violations.Track logs from operating systems, applications, and cloud platforms to spot potential breaches.2. Threat Analysis & Risk AssessmentAnalyze alerts and determine if they are true threats or false positives.Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses.Evaluate new security threats, trends, and attack techniques (malware, phishing, ransomware, etc.).3. Incident Response & InvestigationRespond to security incidents by containing, eradicating, and recovering from attacks.Investigate breaches, determine root causes, and assess impact.Preserve digital evidence for forensic analysis and possible legal action.Create post-incident reports and suggest improvements.4. Security Implementation & MaintenanceConfigure and maintain firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection.Ensure antivirus, patching, and updates are applied regularly.Help design and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards.Implement access controls, encryption, and authentication mechanisms.5. Collaboration & Continuous ImprovementWork with IT teams, developers, and business leaders to secure systems from the ground up.Research emerging threats, new security tools, and industry best practices.
