ABOUT EMMANUEL BAUDOUIN

Deciphering the molecular mechanisms controling the plasticity and adaptability of plant physiology and development to changing environmental cues is the thread of my research interests. Currently, I address this issue through the decoding of signaling networks associated with plant seed germination and their modulation by exogenous and endogenous signals. I am particularly interested in the mechanisms regulating seed dormancy switch to allow or restrict seed germination. I call on numerous approaches including cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics and physiology to unravel complex and integrated events. I am also motivated by the identification and characterization of new natural regulators of seed biology. As a professor, I also have the unique opportunity to share my enthousiasm for plant physiology with motivated students from their early to advanced studies at Sorbonne University and to support them for their plant-based projects.
