ABOUT EMMA LAUDER

I’m a Business Analyst, Technical Writer, and recovering Product Manager, born and raised here in Vancouver, BC. I graduated from UBC with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Humanities, and then went back to school in 2015 to study Business Analysis at SFU. Clear communication, a positive culture, and a connection to the greater community are big priorities for me in my work life. From 2012 to 2017 I wore many different hats for a Vancouver based start-up, and enjoyed helping them grow from 12 to over 40 employees. I am most proud of not only establishing and growing several new departments (including Customer Success and Product), but taking the company from having zero technical documents, to a library of over 600. These documents were not only solely maintained by me, but acted as the single source of truth for users and our staff members. I wrapped up my time there in the role of Product Manager, responsible for managing our backlog, writing epics and user stories, and running the day-to-day operations using the Agile framework.I’m proud to have joined Splunk in 2018 as a technical writer for the Splunk Machine Learning Toolkit and other machine learning, data science, user analytics, and AI products. Splunk makes machine data accessible, usable, and valuable to everyone. Splunk can give you the answers you need to solve your toughest IT, security and business challenges—with the option to deploy on-premises, in the cloud or via a hybrid approach.I’m glad to connect with any other keen tech writers, those curious about Splunk, aspiring vegan cooks, or parakeet owners.
