At BuildOps, a unicorn startup providing a construction management platform, I work as a senior full-stack engineer on the Service Agreements and Assets product modules.As tech lead and architect for the Revenue Recognition initiative — a series of four projects developed over six months — my work was critical to a potential enterprise deal worth over $25M in ARR. Leading technical design and implementation across a team of eight (6 engineers + 2 product partners), I authored a detailed design doc and reviewed the designs and code of other engineers. I collaborated closely with product partners to resolve ambiguity in requirements and directly informed product decisions.I implemented 25+ API endpoints handling complex monetary and date scenarios including penny-accurate rounding, remainder distribution, date cycle drift, and daylight saving transitions. I built async job workflows with Temporal for billing year config and revenue transfer entity generation, with transfers propagated to the accounting service via change data capture and SQS. I implemented wizard UI for user configuration, and a backfill script to onboard existing service agreements to the feature.Beyond revenue recognition, I built better, more resilient async workflows for preventative maintenance schedule generation — creating two new domain microservices in TypeScript and pioneering a shared code architecture that eliminated inter-service HTTP requests, with automatic retries, workflow resumption, pessimistic locking, and rollback mechanisms.Our CEO and executive leadership recognized me as a top engineering performer in my first three quarters. I ranked 3rd out of ~100 engineers by AI utilization. I contributed to remediating several high-severity outages, including restoring invoicing for service agreements across ~350 customers.
