Line management of 15 software engineers (scala, java, react, python) across 4 product teams and two sites with a focus on career development and support of individuals at all stages of their career- Introduced a range of initiatives to break down silos between product teams and encourage connections across sites, including workshops, lightning talks, secondments between teams, social events, hackathons- Set up training on AI for the entire department (100+ people), bringing in external speakers and facilitating workshops, culminating in a 2-day hackathon across 2 sites and online, with 8 teams and 2 hacks being included on future product roadmaps- Created a structured 360 feedback process for engineers to improve the transparency of the progression process and increase confidence across teams- Implemented changes across the engineering recruitment process to make the experience more inclusive with the aim of increasing diversity- Set up an internal tech bootcamp to support the transition of 2 (non-technical) juniors into a software engineer role after all funds for external training were cut, so that they were contributing to the project within 3 months.
