Part of a UK-wide communications team, leading regional external communications activity across the North East to drive awareness of Guide Dogs’ mission to support people with sight loss to live independently, actively and well. I contribute to national campaigns and cross-organisational priorities while developing and delivering integrated local communications and digital strategy. This includes regional social media management and proactive press engagement, supporting community teams across Leeds, Sheffield and Newcastle to identify and shape compelling stories that advance organisational objectives.I run a sustained programme of regional media relations, individually securing 350 pieces of proactive coverage to date with over 290 million OTS. Activity includes developing case studies, pitching interviews, securing broadcast opportunities, drafting press materials, managing media enquiries, and capturing multimedia content to maximise reach and engagement.I have also grown Guide Dogs North East’s social media presence through a strategic blend of paid and organic activity, delivering over 270% growth on Facebook and 280% growth on Instagram to date following a full regional audit and channel consolidation.
