One of two coordinators who sell services, manage events, and promote the 14 historic cemeteries owned and operated by Metro. The properties include Lone Fir Cemetery, Doulgass Cemetery, Grand Army of the Republic Cemetery, and other landmark properties in the Portland metro area.• Lead revenue generator for the program.• Attends and coordinates an average of five funeral events per week.• Regularly manages large-scale public events on cemetery properties. Examples include: VIP speaking events (about 5 per year), Veterans Day festivities (involving about 300 volunteers), and a yearly Halloween tour (with about visitors).• Contributor and co-creator of the Cemetery Business, Operations and Marketing Plan, which analyzed competitive services, set the pricing structure, and recommended new business opportunities and capital expenditures for the Historic Cemetery program. • Worked with Metro staff and marketing agency to develop the program’s Marketing and Communications Plan for FY 13/14. This plan defines new marketing materials, brochures, business cards, logos, signage, and website design.• Provides genealogical and historical research to individuals and historical groups throughout the country. • Applies for grants and other fundraising opportunities to help preserve and protect Portland’s cultural heritage. • Implements strategies to review, digitize and create new systems of maintenance of interment records from the mid-1800s to present.
