About Emma Waldor
I recently started my role as the IT GRC Analyst at Axcelis. In this role, I will be collaborating cross-functionally to improve the company’s IT and cybersecurity risk posture, which includes efforts to attain compliance with NIST 2.0 standards and CMMC certification. I will also be a primary liaison between IT, the business, and the external and internal auditors for SOX 404 audit procedures. Further, I will help to lead the consolidation of governance frameworks, policies, and control processes resulting from the upcoming merger with Veeco.Previously, I worked at Point32Health for over 2 years as an IT Audit Senior. During this time, I worked on many impactful audits related to MAR and SOC Compliance, User Access Review, Change Management, New Access Provisioning, and Patch Management. In my work on these audits, I collaboratively managed audit planning and budgeting, evidence collection, testing and documentation, workload distribution, project tracking, draft audit reporting, and communications with internal and external stakeholders. I also helped to update the MAR program, in 2025. These efforts included collaborative re-evaluation of the IT environment, re-design of audit scoping, test procedures, and documentation, and assisting with audit budget maintenance, control gap identification and deficiency remediation. Further, I developed a risk and control framework to help address new and emerging risks related to use of AI/ML technologies in the company\'s IT and business processes.I started my career as an IT Auditor at Deloitte, for 1.5 years. In this role I assisted with project planning, evidence collection, meeting planning and coordination, testing and documentation of various SAP controls, and communication with senior leadership across stakeholders. I also helped to drive project efficiencies through client communication, evidence generation, and improvement of documentation. I also interned in this role during the summer of 2021.I am driven to positively impact the lives of others in my individual and collaborative work. My passion lies in exploring the intersections between human behavior, financial markets, business strategy, data integrity, and controls and compliance, through risk management and fraud prevention work.
