ABOUT EMMA SKOOG
I’m a PhD-trained molecular biologist with deep experience in plant and mammalian cell culture, immunology, and microbiology. Over the past five years, I’ve worked for several startups, contributing to innovation across cancer therapeutics, cellular agriculture, and precision fermentation - gaining experience in translating complex science into real-world impact.Today, I’m the co-founder and CSO of Krokos Bio, where we’re using cellular agriculture to produce high-value natural products more sustainably. Our first product is saffron, with high-value culinary and health applications, but constrained by climate-sensitive growing conditions and labor-intensive harvesting. I’m passionate about building from the ground up, working across disciplines, and love collaborating with people who are equally driven by curiosity and purpose.
