ABOUT EMMA SHUTTLEWORTH
I am a peatland scientist, geomorphologist and hydrologist, specialising in upland landscape restoration. I work at a range of spatial and temporal scales to understand the physical processes which shape blanket peats in the UK. My principal research interests lie in furthering our understanding of the effects of peatland degradation and restoration on the movement of water and sediment, and the export of carbon and contaminants. I have 16 years of research experience and have worked on funded projects totalling over £8 million from a range of sources, including UKRI competitive calls, internal strategic research funds, and external stakeholders and learned societies. I am an active member of the research community and have chaired sessions and presented my research at various national and international conferences. I have a strong track record of working in collaboration with project partners and stakeholders.
