As a data engineer, I build data products that monitor Daniel Jeweler\'s (DJ) financial results, broken out across DJ originated loans/credit lines, store merchandise sales and inventory, customer foot traffic, and financial impact debt collectors and credit raters. By migrating unstructured historical/legacy data to modern RDBMS, leveraging advanced analytics, and clean custom dashboards, I help the business unit make core decisions that increase revenue.Key Responsibilities: • Maintain legacy data models and reporting systems, while rebuilding data pipelines and ETL processes and integrating modern tools to scale reporting across the organization, which has increased sales, customers signed on automatic payments, and credit line performance. These engineering updates reduced query process time, expanded available historical data, automated prior manual processes, and increased reporting accuracy (credit loss rate models 99% accurate). • Directly work with CEO, VP of Credit, IT Director, Regional/District Managers to identify core data related business needs, key metrics indicators, valuable reports and visualizations, and resolve conflicting data sources to integrate decades of historical data. • Software and tools I frequent work with include: Python (Pandas, Numpy, SQL Alchemy, cx_Oracle, open source libraries, etc.), SQL (Oracle SQL, MS/SQL Server), Jupyter, Powershell scripting, remote Windows servers, Azure/Google Cloud Services, Tableau, Databox, Excel.
