My role at NE Youth focuses on our income generation strategy, ensuring our organisation grows in line with the needs of the communities we serve. This involves grant applications, hosting fundraising events, obtaining sponsorship, community fundraising and networking with the North East business community to raise awareness about the need of positive youth provision for children and young people. I also lead on our communications plan, ensuring our great work is shared far and wide and our brand profile is strengthened.NE Youth is a leading youth development charity supporting young people and youth organisations in the communities where they live and work. We do this by providing a high quality youth offer across the region through our own direct youth work services and by working with and supporting our member network of organisations.Our direct youth work takes place across the North East, and we aim to give young people the opportunity to discuss issues such as drug and alcohol awareness, sexual health, money management and internet safety and access information and advice. We provide activities around arts and crafts, physical activities and we also do things like cooking and social action projects and fundraising. Our vision is that ‘all young people in the North East of England have the opportunities they deserve to get involved in their communities, enjoy their lives and achieve their potential’.
