People > Projects People over projects is a phrase I learned from one of my greatest mentors. To me, it means that the people I\'m serving will always be more important than the physical project. Whether this “project” is in the workplace, community or with peers I strive to do my best in forming relationships and making an emotional impact. I keep this in mind throughout all of my endeavors; volunteer or the workplace. I am an ambitious and tedious student, peer, friend, and employee. As a third-year student at Cleveland State University, I’m on track to earn dual bachelor’s degrees in Nonprofit Management and Public Policy. Though I’m a full-time student, I also work in the luxury hospitality industry as a Marriott and HEI Hospitality employee. Another occupution of mine is a receptionist at a Spa. In both of these industries I’m the smiling face that greets guests. This is part of my mission and I’m improving these skills in all my endeavors. My broad range of experience and history has formed my work ethic and values. I’m guided by a people-first philosophy and mindset, which I’ve learned through my work and, mostly volunteer experience. I’ve developed a fondness for both fast and slower paced work environments. Whether I’m serving a community member or guest I ensure everyone I come in contact with walks away with a smiling face. In a nonprofit setting, It’s important to have constant dialogue with those you’re serving. We have no mission without the community letting us know what economic gaps need filled.
