As a Communications Associate at AAR, I focus on media monitoring, content creation, social media management, and public relations. I track industry news, develop strategic messaging, and create content that highlights the impact of freight rail. Through social media and external communications, I help ensure AAR’s messaging reaches key audiences and supports the organization’s advocacy efforts. & - Track and assess industry news to identify trends, challenges and opportunities- Maintain and update media contact lists, researching journalists, outlets and engagement channels- Assist in crafting press releases and statements- Triage and track media inquiries, ensuring timely and strategic responses- Maintain AAR’s message repository and support public affairs efforts. & - Develop engaging content for AAR social media platforms- Craft and post social media content promoting industry updates, reports and advocacy initiatives- Monitor social media trends and facilitate engagement with key audiences. & - Compile and distribute daily media clips- Assist in updating internal news sheets, website content and member reports. & - Schedule and facilitate team meetings and organize event logistics. ’ - Recruit, mentor, and supervise undergraduate interns pursuing careers in policy, government or communications- Coordinate cross-functionally with AAR’s Government Affairs and Communications teams
