ABOUT EMMA LAUR
Hello! My name is Emma Laur and I am in the Forensic Psychology and Criminal Justice program at Brock University, and also a part of Brock’s Law Plus Co-Curricular program. Additionally, I am on the women’s varsity swim team, which has contributed greatly to my time management skills. In high school, I was drawn to the area of law when I had the opportunity to participate in my school’s mock trial team. I was able to be exposed to the legal system, and also had the opportunity to interact with local lawyers at the St. Catherine’s Court House. I have always enjoyed public speaking, being able to work on my feet, and be put into high pressure situations. My leadership position as an aquatic team lead at the Port Colborne YMCA, and aquatic supervisor at Sherkston Shores, has allowed me to build these skill sets that are transferable into my everyday life. I look to continue to develop my skills and graduate my program at Brock University. Once completed, I hope to attend Law school and work towards becoming a Criminal lawyer, where I can make a meaningful impact on vulnerable societies and work to improve injustices within the justice system.
