ABOUT EMMA KAY
Current Forensic Psychologist in Training with Hexagon Care, completing assessments and interventions with looked after young people in residential placements in Manchester.Over two years experience in HM Prison Services and two years in community IAPT services as a Senior Psychological Well-being Practitioner, delivering evidence based interventions for anxiety and depressive disorders. My work experience includes 18 months within a Secure Forensic Unit for females with complex mental health and personality disorder, which consists of low, medium and acute wards, with a psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU). For my Forensic Psychology MSc, I submitted dissertation research that was based upon exploring staff experiences of support following violent incidents on psychiatric wards. This was awarded a distinction (80%).I also have experience as an Honorary Assistant Psychologist with the Psychology Department at a forensic inpatient unit working on HCR-20 violence risk assessments for the patients.
