WORK HISTORY
Trainee Legal Adviser @HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS)
Advising Magistrates on the Law in relation to private family cases. • Mediating with parents and bringing them to consent orders for the care of their children in several cases where they initially were entrenched in their positions. I achieved this by setting out a clear factual basis of what both their expectations were and what compromises would allow them to best move forward with the shared care of their child.• Drafting orders with the highest degree of precision.

ABOUT EMMA-JUSTINE MICHAUX
Originally from France, I graduated from a double degree of French and English Law and ultimately decided to study and work in the Common Law judicial system of England and Wales. I therefore undertook the BPC at the University of Law, supported by the Advocacy Scholarship, and achieved the grade of Very Competent. I have represented clients in court every day as a self-employed county court advocate. This is a position I have thoroughly enjoyed, and throughout which I have developed a serious interest in civil litigation, particularly consumer rights claims. In November 2024 I started my position as Trainee Legal Adviser in the Family Court of Birmingham and will continue my training in the Magistrates Court later in 2025.
