After 25 years working in adult social care, my careers took a slightly different and exciting turn as I am commissioning services for children, young people and families. Specifically my roles is to,* Support the Council’s approach to joint commissioning, working with the local NHS to identify, explore/deliver opportunities where joint commissioning brings added value.* Lead review of current joint/tripartite funding arrangements and develop new agreements to improve process/procedures underpinned by a legal and policy grounding, including the approach to section 117.* Lead a review of the current section 75 arrangements and develop a new overarching Section 75 to bring together all historic arrangements with capacity to include future tripartite/joint funding arrangements.* Lead the commissioning response for children and young people with learning disabilities and autism (LDA), working closely with the NHS to improve pathways and models of support. Working closely with the commissioning response for CYP with Tier 4 MH CAMHS needs and having oversight of all CYP with complex needs.* Working collaboratively with the local NHS to support the development of the emerging Neurodevelopmental Pathway, ensuring there is a strong focus on early intervention, peer support and community capacity building.* Undertake a System Enabler role within the new NHSE Designated Key Worker Project. Lead programme and ensure delivery of milestones ensuring new roles are embedded in practice across health, social care, and education.* Utilise Positive Behavioural Support Framework to create bespoke placements for young people with complex needs.* Support Development of LD/A Housing Work Plan, utilising where possible NHSE Capital Funds, develop new housing schemes. Working commissioners in adult social care to plan housing for the needs of young people in transition.
