ABOUT EMMA GROVES
I am an accomplished nursing leader with over 25 years’ experience across oncology, secondary care, community and military healthcare, committed to delivering clinically robust, responsive and compassionate services. I hold an MSc in Leading Quality Improvement and have led end‑to‑end service development as SACT Lead Nurse and a Clinical Nurse Specialist, commissioning nurse‑led immunotherapy services, SACT pre‑assessment pathways and community‑delivered supportive therapies. I also established one of the UK’s early chemotherapy helplines and published an audit on chemotherapy triage. My practice is underpinned by a strong focus on education and workforce development. I delivered a Cancer Academy for overseas nurses, creating tailored induction, competency frameworks and ongoing mentorship to accelerate safe practice and integration into the workforce. I have led multidisciplinary CPD programmes, in‑service training and learning events, and hosted webinars. I apply quality improvement methodology to education and clinical governance to drive sustained improvements. I have owned clinical risk registers, led audits and translated findings into action plans that close gaps in practice and strengthen compliance. I routinely provide clinical input to business cases and feasibility work, ensuring service developments are clinically viable and aligned to strategic objectives.
