ABOUT EMMA DEZARN
I am a postgraduate student at the University of Edinburgh pursuing an MSc in Psychology of Mental Health, with a strong interest in clinical and organizational psychology research, policy design, and systems-level mental health reform. My academic and professional experiences span diverse areas—from quantitative research on OCD symptom trends to hands-on support for children and adolescents in both educational and care settings. I’ve contributed to projects ranging from mindfulness workshops in public schools to diversity and equity initiatives in academia. I also bring a background in creative communication, using storytelling and writing to bridge gaps between research, policy, and public understanding. Currently, I’m developing my dissertation on age-related trends in OCD using SPSS and R, while volunteering in research groups focused on trauma, adolescent wellbeing, and health communication. Long-term, I’m driven to influence mental health systems through evidence-based policy and accessible, equity-driven program design.
