ABOUT EMMA BURRIS
I\'m interested in the quality improvement of crisis mental healthcare, alternatives to inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, and the implementation of community-based mental health programs. Currently, I\'m writing my senior undergraduate thesis at Barnard College of Columbia University on the experiences of adolescents formerly hospitalized in psychiatric facilities. I\'m also interested in the Trieste model of mental healthcare, effective psychiatric deinstitutionalization worldwide, and factors surrounding suicidal ideation and behaviors, notably disclosure of them.
