About Emma Abbott

I believe that storytelling is a powerful tool for building meaningful relationships. So, here is a snapshot of my story: I was adopted from Vietnam when I was six months old, and I finally found my birth mother at age twenty. All my life, I have used my adoption as an ice breaker. However, my education at Miami University has helped me realize that it\'s a part of who I am. From this life experience, I have learned that I am very resilient, curious, and empathetic. I want to be able to make a difference, whether that\'s small or large impacts, in a world that has gifted me plentiful opportunities. I wouldn\'t be where I am to day if it wasn\'t for my adoption. I have a passion for truly empathizing with others to learn and understand their story, and interests in social entrepreneurship. Through my previous internships, I have gained the skills to utilize my entrepreneurial and anthropological thinking through my creative work. As a seeker and dreamer, I am always looking for new opportunities to connect with others about my career and personal growth.
