About Emily Tufano
I am a fifth year dual-title Biomedical Science and Clinical & Translational Sciences PhD candidate at Penn State College of Medicine. I graduated from the College of New Jersey in 2020 with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Business Management. I previously worked at Syneos Health, where I gained valuable insight into industry-specific dynamics related to a drug’s path to market. Further, this experience allowed me to develop strong problem-solving abilities through collaboration with the method development team, where I applied various biochemical techniques to overcome scientific challenges. As a graduate student, I have utilized these skills to lead hypothesis driven experiments and apply analytical problem-solving strategies to drive project success. My long-term goal is to leverage my experiences in both industry and academia to navigate complex scientific, regulatory, and business challenges.
