Marks & Spencer are the number one market share holder for women\'s jeans in the UK, and I am responsible for designing and developing the range from concept to production. I also designed for the casual bottoms range over the pandemic. Some of my key responsibilities are:• Researching trends and use them to design a commercial range• Producing detailed tech packs and wash briefings• Liaising with offices and suppliers in Bangladesh and Turkey• Giving wash comments on development samples• Attending fit sessions• Presenting the range at a number of meetings each season• Helping with training and development of Design Assistants and GraduatesI have been elected by my colleagues in womenswear to represent them to the business as part of the ‘Business Involvement Group’. I have been doing this since June 2022 and so far have managed to get the business to implement free sanitary products for all staff to help with the cost of living, £250 vouchers for our lowest paid colleagues and I am currently doing some work on work/life balance.
