Emily is developing and executing internal and external communications within Dalio Philanthropies and beyond, extending to other areas of the Dalio Family enterprise.Before her current role, Emily was employee #1 at boutique strategic communications firm Hirsch Leatherwood, where she served as a senior director. She provided strategic guidance to brands and executives on corporate reputation and stakeholder engagement by creating communications strategy and brand narratives, writing internal and external communications for executives, building thought leadership platforms, coordinating project management logistics within the agency and with client teams, managing staff support on each account, and more.Previously, Emily oversaw external communications and public relations at ad tech company Integral Ad Science (IAS). In the role, she developed and managed the content strategy for the company’s global social media channels. She also worked to position IAS’s executives as thought leaders in the ad tech industry by building their social media presence, creating opportunities for media placements, and applying for awards, pitching and securing a panel at SXSW. Prior to joining IAS, Emily worked as a communications associate at tech nonprofit Girls Who Code. There, she oversaw the nonprofit’s and CEO’s personal social media platforms. Her work on Girls Who Code’s Sisterhood campaign was recognized with the 2019 People\'s Choice Webby Award for Public Service and Activism on Social. Emily also launched, recorded, and produced 3 seasons of the Brave, Not Perfect Podcast with Reshma Saujani, which was recognized with the 2019 Gracie Award for top Lifestyle Podcast. Emily received her B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis with a major in English Literature and double minors in Economics and Psychology.
