ABOUT EMILY MUHA
Aspiring healthcare professional and current Rutgers MHA student with extensive experience in a variety of healthcare sectors. I am a creative problem solver driven by challenge and continuous growth. My career in healthcare began in high school as an office assistant where I completed a wide variety of billing and clerical tasks in a physician office. While receiving my undergraduate degree from the University of New Hampshire I gained clinical experience through my position as a certified nursing assistant where I cared for patients with a range of health needs and through my experience with Global Brigades where we served over 200 patients through pop-up medical clinics in remote communities in Panama. In these positions I realized the importance of patient advocacy and returned to my roots in healthcare administration. This passion for advocacy leads me to my current role as a research coordinator for a study focusing on how patients with cancer cope with their diagnosis and how that impacts their treatment decisions. Through these roles and experiences I quickly realized how complex the U.S. healthcare system is and I am passionate about tackling inequities and making a difference for all patients by expanding my non-clinical experience.
