About Emily Miller
Emily Miller is an executive coach, TV/video trainer, communications strategist and public speaker. She has advised high-level officials from Secretary of State Colin Powell to Sen. Ted Cruz and been a reporter for ABC News and Fox. She currently helps her clients with media training for TV, crisis communications and media relations. Miller was appointed as a strategic advisor, communications manager and spokesman at the highest levels of the federal government. She was appointed by Pres. Donald Trump as the Assistant Commissioner for Media Affairs of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration during the pandemic. She was the Deputy Press Secretary at the U.S. Department of State during Pres. George W. Bush’s administration during wartime. In that role, she worked directly with Powell and Condoleezza Rice and traveled on all overseas missions, taking her to 50 countries. On Capitol Hill, Miller was the Communications Director to the House Majority Whip. She was Communications Director and Spokesman for U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz’s successful re-election campaign in 2018. Prior to her appointment at the FDA, Miller was the Chairman of the COVID Task Force for Fort Bend County, Texas.Miller’s journalism experience is in both national TV and newspapers. Miller was the Chief Investigative Reporter for Fox 5 D.C. Her reporting directly led to laws being changed in Virginia and the District of Columbia. Miller was Senior Editor of the opinion pages at The Washington Times. She is the author of the book, Emily Gets Her Gun about the national political debate over gun control (Regnery, 2013.) Her journalism career started as a desk assistant at NBC News. She then moved to ABC News, where she was the associate producer for the Sunday show “This Week.” She also managed the widely-read Substack newsletter \"Emily Posts News\", providing readers with original, exclusive reporting and insider analysis. She has broken global media stories on the botched U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, the COVID-19 pandemic and a fallen Marine family’s lawsuit against a celebrity. She has appeared as a guest host or analyst on ABC, CNN, Fox News, HBO, C-SPAN, MSNBC, PBS and CNBC. Miller received the prestigious Clark Mollenhoff Award for Investigative Reporting from the Institute on Political Journalism. She won the Society of Professional Journalists D.C. Excellence in Journalism Award for editorial writing. She is a cum laude graduate of Georgetown University\'s School of Foreign Service.
