ABOUT EMILY MCMAHON

I am a marketing and communications professional with a decade of experience in the cultural sector. I am passionate about Canadian storytelling and have worked in four provinces managing performing arts, visual arts, and film. My experience includes roles at Confederation Centre of the Arts and the Toronto International Film Festival. I graduated from the Commerce program at Queen’s University where I specialized in marketing, international business, and world languages. I also acquired my Accreditation in Publication Relations (APR®) from the Canadian Public Relations Society. I just began graduate studies at the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa where I will obtain an MBA with a concentration in management consulting. I am an active volunteer who has helped plan and execute large cultural events such as the Canada Games and Atlantic International Film Festival. I have also served on the boards of non-profits that support culture, tourism, and youth engagement. I was named one of the Top 30 Under 30 by Atlantic Business Magazine, featured on The Peak’s Emerging Leaders List, received Fusion Charlottetown’s Arts and Culture Award, and was selected for the Business / Arts Emerging Leadership program.
