ABOUT EMILY LAPPER

I\'m a Vancouver-based lawyer with expertise in litigation, judicial and appellate review, and constitutional and administrative law. I currently practice as Legal Counsel in the Legal Services Branch of the Ministry of Attorney General. From 2018 to 2020, I was Senior Litigation Counsel for the British Columbia Civil Liberties Association. Prior to joining the BCCLA, I worked in the Vancouver office of Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP (formerly, Bull, Housser & Tupper LLP) where I maintained a diverse civil litigation practice. I have argued at all levels of court in British Columbia, appeared before the appellate courts of Alberta and Ontario, and have argued in the Supreme Court of Canada. I am a Contributing Editor for Fraser, Horn & Griffin: The Conduct of Civil Litigation in British Columbia and previously coached the Laskin Moot team for Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia. From 20••••13, I served as a law clerk to Justice Rosalie Silberman Abella at the Supreme Court of Canada. From 20••••11, I was a law clerk for Justice K. Smith and Justice Kirkpatrick of the Court of Appeal for British Columbia. I am proud to serve my community as a Board Member for the Vancouver Public Library and to sing with choirs at Chorus Studio.
