About Emily Goodin
I\'m an experienced technical writer with a passion for my work and the desire to be an expert at whatever I\'m working on. I love my work because I have the opportunity to dive into new technologies and products and \"learn as I go\" - I become the user and write the documentation I know they need. I\'m diligent about making sure the documentation is complete and current. I\'ve been known to watch git commits so I can see first-hand if the docs need to be updated because of a code change. But it\'s more fun to get the information I need by interacting with the team. I figure out how to relate to my peers in the workplace, and I’ll use whatever method works best for my subject matter experts. I’m not picky - I’ll discuss the workings of a project over coffee and croissants (my favorite method), on the rock climbing wall, or on the trail. Aside from work, my other writing-related passion is science fiction. I\'m a proofreader/copyeditor for the short story online magazine \"Compelling Science Fiction\", curated by Joe Stech.
