About Emily Hershman

Strategic HR professional with 11+ years of experience across HR and consulting. I’ve built HR practices and systems from the ground up and partnered with leaders to align their goals with thoughtful, practical people solutions that drive tangible business results. I bring a strong background in performance management, project management and training, along with a marketing-informed approach to communication and influence. I lead with empathy, a growth mindset, and a deep sense of ownership, which helps me to build trust quickly. I started my career in marketing consulting and enjoyed the creative and relational aspects of the work, however, over time I realized the product itself felt misaligned with my values. What energized me most was developing people and systems, however, I lacked the formal frameworks to truly motivate, grow and influence talent in a way that would have a lasting impact on a business. That led me to pursue a master’s degree in Organizational Psychology so I could understand not just what to do but why it works and where within the system change actually needs to happen. Since moving into HR over 5 years ago, I’ve applied that behavioral and systems lens to hands-on work including employee relations, performance management, coaching, and building core people processes. My earlier consulting experience strengthens my ability to collaborate with leaders and communicate clearly, but my professional identity today is firmly rooted in HR, helping leaders and managers to make fair, effective people decisions that hold up over time.
