About Emily Lucente

I am a recipient of the Fulbright English Teaching Assistant Award to South Korea for 2023. As an alumna of the Fulbright U.S. Student Program, I hold Non-Competitive Eligibility (NCE) status for federal jobs. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly with any questions about NCE or my professional experience. While in South Korea, I implemented all that I have learned through my studies to bring disputing communities together through conflict resolution and theatre. I recently graduated from Pepperdine\'s Caruso School of Law with my Master\'s in Dispute Resolution from the world-renowned Straus Institute of Dispute Resolution. During my time in graduate school, I realized my passion for mediating and facilitating international-based groups of varying dynamics. Combining my graduate studies with those from my undergraduate, I will utilize the cohesive aspect of theatre to bring international dynamic groups together. In April of 2022, I graduated from Pepperdine’s Seaver College with a degree in Theatre Acting, a Global Fellows Certificate, and a Certificate in Conflict Management and Dispute Resolution, earned through the Caruso School of Law. During my undergraduate, I spent a year of intensive Italian studies in Florence, Italy, a summer of Islamic studies in Amman, Jordan, and a summer of theatrical studies in the Czech Republic. It was in my undergraduate studies that I witnessed opposing groups come together through a shared goal of putting on a play. Theatre, and the vulnerability that comes with it, allows participants to see one another as more than \'othered\' and slowly come together.
