ABOUT EMILY WATSON

Now a partner at Rayden Solicitors, I have specialised in family law since my qualification in 2002. I trained and worked in London for 12 years before moving to Rayden Solicitors, St Albans, as an Associate Solicitor in 2012. I was very proud and excited to join the partnership at Raydens in 2016 and, shortly thereafter, to move over to Berkhamsted to help head up our new second office there. For many years, I specialised almost exclusively in mid to high net worth financial remedy work, but I have in recent years also enjoyed a growing practice in private children law matters, with a particular interest in leave to remove cases. I have now qualified as a Children Arbitrator and am a big fan of arbitration as an alternative to Court proceedings in the right cases. I am also a Resolution accredited specialist in Complex Financial Remedies and Private Children Law. I also deal with all matters arising from separation, including cohabitation disputes and separation agreements. I also deal with cohabitation agreements, as well as prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, including those with an international element. I am a former member of both the Resolution Precedents Committee and the Resolution Cohabitation Committee. Specialties: Complex financial issues on divorce, private children disputes (e.g. residence and contact disputes), prenuptial agreements, cohabitation issues.
