About Emily Skinner
With a Master’s and Ph.D. in Conflict Resolution and Analysis focused on Organizational Development from Nova Southeastern University. My work sits at the intersection of conflict resolution, HR practices, workplace investigations, and applied research, allowing me to support organizations in building equitable, accountable, and high functioning environments. At Bravely, I logged over hours of coaching, guiding 1,300+ individuals through complex workplace challenges including COVID-19 stress, organizational change, leadership hurdles, discrimination, and team dysfunction. In my current role as Trust+ Coordinator with the National Association for Community Mediation, I oversee a Department of Justice funded national initiative supporting more than ten local organizations across the US. I manage onboarding and ongoing technical assistance for partner organizations, track performance metrics, oversee compliance and reporting requirements, and collaborate closely with finance, legal, and program stakeholders to ensure accuracy, accountability, and timely execution. This role requires advanced project management, cross sector collaboration, and the ability to navigate complex systems, aligning closely with large scale institutional initiatives. As Immediate Past President of the Board of Directors for the Association for Conflict Resolution Greater NY, I continue to support strategic initiatives in fundraising, programming, and community engagement. During my presidency, I chaired two virtual conferences and expanded our LinkedIn presence.Additionally, as a consultant with PPS, I facilitate dialogue, mediate complex disputes, and coach leaders, while my work with Neil Katz and Associates has strengthened my expertise in process consulting and systems level transformation. As Ops Coordinator at Otra Cosa Network, I managed the daily operations of an international nonprofit and served as a liaison between volunteers and the local community. I designed and implemented social programs for women and children and led a community research initiative that gathered and analyzed data from more than 100 households to inform program development, grant proposals, and public policy initiatives.I am also deeply committed to education. As a Professor of Sociology at Kean University and Hudson County Community College, I currently support students and faculty in a hybrid graduate setting at Columbia University.
