ABOUT EMILY SCOTT
I graduated from the University of Leeds (BA Hons - History) in 2012. I then joined Royal Mail as a managerial graduate later that year. As you will read in my career journey, I quickly progressing through the organisation, within 5 years I was running the Yorkshire Distribution Centre as Plant Manager. I then took a development opportunity, leaving the site to work away at the National Distribution Centre as Head of Operations. The National Distribution Centre is the largest operational unit within Royal Mail Group. As Head of Operations at the National Distribution Centre, I was responsible for 80% of the nation\'s mail every night. Responsible for over 500 permanent employees, increasing to over at peak, with 4 direct senior managerial reports. In addition to the BAU running of the site, I was also responsible for operational improvement. I successfully deployed continuous improvement activity in the site, using Kaizen, and other lean techniques. My most successful deployment led to an increase in capacity of the site by 12% through internal flow changes. After being in the role for two years, I moved into central programmes to take the role of Senior Project Manager. I ran a programme of activity deploying operational layout changes across the middle mile estate at Royal Mail Group. Successfully supporting the increase in parcel processing capacity across the network. After 10 years at Royal Mail I joined Evri as a Programme Manager looking after change within Courier and Delivery Experience.I have vast experience in operational management, people management & change, union negotiation, change management, and continuous improvement.
